Announced on the 13th of September 2018, the iPhone XR is the twelfth generation of the iPhone.

Also, the new display on iPhone XR has the largest liquid-crystal display (LCD) ever on an iPhone, making a switch from the usual organic light-emitting diode (OLED). Unfortunately, this will lower the resolution.

Although it only has a single rear camera instead of two (missing the zoom lens), the photography quality is said to be much more advanced, with enhanced bokeh, or background blurring, better highlight and shadow details, more low-light detail and sharper action shots.

Additionally, the iPhone XR is available in exclusive colours including coral, white, black, red, yellow and blue, making them very eye-catching and the most colourful phones since the iPhone 5C.

When Is It Available?

The iPhone XR starts at $400 less than the iPhone XS, making it the most affordable iPhone of 2018. It will be available for pre-order as of the 19th of October 2018, starting from A$1,229, and will be released on the 26th of October.
